Pay Grade: 02

Minimum Hourly Rate: $16.60

Minimum Annual Salary: $25,498            

Duty Days: 192

 

Primary Purpose:

Under direct supervision of the principal, provide reception and clerical assistance for the efficient operation of the campus.

 

Qualifications:

Education and Certification

  • High school diploma or equivalent

 

Experience

  • One year of clerical experience in an office setting

 

Special Knowledge and Skills                                                               

  • Must be familiar with basic computer programs and operations
  • Proficient keyboarding skills
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow written instructions
  • Ability to operate multi-line phone system
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in handling confidential information

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Receives and directs incoming calls, take reliable messages, and routes to appropriate staff.
  • Greets and directs campus visitors, maintains visitor log, and issues visitor passes when required.
  • Assists parents in checking students in and out of school.
  • Receives, sorts, and distributes mail, messages, documents, and other deliveries.
  • Assists with the receipt and distribution of student materials, including homework requests and grade reports.
  • Assists with preparation of materials for mailing, including preparing labels, stuffing envelopes, etc.
  • Maintains computerized files using personal computer, including reports, employee roster, and mailing list.
  • Serves as primary staff and student attendance monitor.
  • Prepares attendance reports for principal.
  • Gathers staff Absent from Duty Forms, substitute requests, doctor excuses student absences and early dismissals, etc.
  • Assists secretary with paraprofessional timekeeping, in and out punches.

 

Other Related Duties:

  • Follows district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Participates in professional development, faculty meetings, and special events as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Tools and Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching

Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)

Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; occasional district-wide and statewide travel

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
